World of Work Chinese
This program not only covers the language that you will need to succeed in a Chinese office environment, but also approaches business Chinese from a more cultural perspective, exploring the differences between Chinese and Western office environments and behavior. The world of work Chinese program is ideal for those looking for, or beginning, a job in China and in need of a crash course in the challenges of job interviews, office politics and meeting etiquette. We will give you interview practice, role play meeting situations and insights into the world of the Chinese office – from the drinking games enjoyed over company dinners, to the respect expected to be shown towards the boss. Once we have covered the office basics, we will move on to study the language and etiquette of Chinese business. Business Chinese Test
This is the only official test for non-native speakers’ business Chinese level, designed to provide candidates with an official certificate of their Chinese proficiency, useful when applying for both jobs and university programs in China. The BCT is split into 2 exams: a Listening and Reading exam and a Speaking and Writing exam. This exam can be taken on a computer, meaning that, as long as your reading is up to scratch, you don’t have to worry about remembering how to write every character!
At That’s Mandarin, we offer classes to help candidates prepare for all levels of the BCT. We invite all students to come into one of our Chinese schools for a free trial class before starting their studies, during which we will conduct a BCT-appropriate assessment. Once we have done this we can advise you on what levels you should aim for, and the required timeframe. In addition to teaching you with all the vocabulary and grammar you will need for your exam, we will also leave time to focus on any specific areas of business you are interested in during your classes.
