WHAT IS YOUR CHINESE LEVEL?

Our curriculum is in sync with the current HSK level system. The chart below will help to determine which level you should take at our school to pass a certain HSK level.

  • Equivalent of TM Level 1

    Suitable for Total beginner students
    Mandarin Café units to complete 5 units
    Vocabulary count 150 words
    What you can achieve – Get 2 work visa points

    TM Level 1:
    -You’ll be able to understand basic Chinese words and sentences. You’ll also be able to introduce yourself, order food at a restaurant, and ask for directions.

  • Equivalent of TM Level 2

    Suitable for Elementary students
    Mandarin Café units to complete 5 units
    Vocabulary count 300 words
    What you can achieve – Get 4 work visa points.

    TM Level 2:
    – You’ll be able to conduct basic conversations on daily topics: buying train tickets, making reservations, discussing hobbies, etc.

  • Equivalent of TM Level 3 & 4

    Suitable for Intermediate students
    Mandarin Café units to complete 10 units
    Vocabulary count 600 words
    What you can achieve – Get 6 visa points

    TM Level 3:
    – You’ll be able to express your feelings and thoughts in Chinese, and use the language in more advanced daily life situations (e.g. talking to a cleaning lady or a real estate agent, making a complaint, etc.).

    TM Level 4:
    – You’ll be able to express your thoughts and opinion on different matters: education, medical services, love & relationships, attitude of Chinese people towards their pets. You’ll also be able to use Chinese at work.

  • Equivalent of TM Level 5, 6, 7 & 8

    Suitable for Intermediate students
    Mandarin Café units to complete 10 units
    Vocabulary count 600 words
    What you can achieve – Get 6 visa points

    TM Level 5:
    – You’ll be able to discuss various social and work related topics: employment, job hopping, etc. You’ll also be able to read and retell simple news and reports in Chinese.

    TM Level 6:
    – You’ll learn to discuss cultural issues, history and music, and compare different things to each other. You’ll also be able to understand most of the content in Chinese news or TV dramas.

    TM Level 7:
    – You’ll pick up advanced vocabulary and be able to discuss natural phenomena, environment and technology, etc.

    TM Level 8:
    – You’ll be able to use new words, phrases and grammar to describe and discuss economic and social news in Chinese. You’ll be able to hold extended discussion on various topics with native Chinese speakers.

  • Equivalent of TM Advanced Level

    Suitable for Advanced students
    Mandarin Café units to complete 40 units
    Vocabulary count 2400 words
    What you can achieve – Get 10 visa points

    TM Level 9:
    – You’ll be able to read Chinese articles and books, make speeches and write academic papers in Chinese. You’ll also be able to communicate in spoken Chinese fluently.

  • Equivalent of TM Advanced Level

    Suitable for Advanced students
    Mandarin Café units to complete 40 units
    Vocabulary count 5000 words
    What you can achieve – Get 10 visa points

    TM Level 10:
    – You’ll be able to comfortably use Chinese idioms and communicate fluently in Chinese without mistakes. You’ll be able to use Chinese for professional and academic purposes.
