Paper Cutting ✂️
It all started at our Shanghai campus, where the festive spirit began with the traditional art of paper cutting, or 剪纸 (jiǎnzhǐ).
If you don’t have your own 春 (chūn) at home yet, find a template and 剪 (jiǎn) one yourself ✂️
Chengdu Language Corner
Our Chengdu campus rocks it every month with a lively Speaking Club activity.
This time, students took turns sharing their “can’t-live-without items”: useful gadgets and personal favorites ⏰
Each story brought new vocabulary and plenty of laughs. What a great way to learn practical, everyday Chinese!
Knotting Together
Back in Shanghai, students continued theirDIY journey by trying another traditional craft:
Chinese knots, or 中国结 (zhōngguójié).
Beautiful work, everyone!
These knots make lovely gifts not only for the Spring Festival, but all year round 🪢
Mahjong, Mahjong
Of course, no month is complete without 吃 (chī)-ing and 碰 (pèng)-ing together at the mahjong table.
Preparing to Celebrate
In the weeks leading up to the Spring Festival, there’s one simple rule:
