Students’ Feedback

What Our Students Say

My kids have been taking Chinese lessons every Saturday in Canada for about 8 years and they have complained every week about going. When they went to That’s Mandarin, they actually liked it! It was the first time that my kids realized it was actually useful to know Mandarin...because they realized they actually needed it to communicate in Shanghai!

My 14 year old daughter had a wonderful experience with That''s Manderin. My family is very impressed with her significant improvement of both speaking and writing abilities.

My 3 kids are 6, 8 and 10. They attended the That's Mandarin school in Shanghai in June 2018 during their school holidays. We thought that they would cry and whine going to classes through their break time but we couldn't have been more wrong. Every morning they would get ready for school and travel by train with their bright yellow bags on their back. They were eager to come to the classes each day. The teachers were terrific and the children were so proud to make new friends in such a wonderfully challenging environment. At the end they did not want to leave!

Frequently Asked Questions

GET YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What is the course schedule?

As the whole course is fully customized, your kids can have classes anytime they want (within That’s Mandarin working hours). Our campuses are open from 8:00 am till 9:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am till 6:00 pm on weekends.

Who are the teachers?

Our teachers are all native Chinese speakers who are highly-qualified and experienced in teaching Chinese to foreigners. Our teachers are university graduates with majors in Chinese language education or Chinese literature. They have also previously obtained a “teaching Mandarin as a second language” certificate before they joined us and successfully completed That’s Mandarin’s mandatory Teachers Training Course (TTC).

What teaching materials do you use?

We developed our own teaching and learning methods. We use our own Chinese learning platform for all our classes. There you can find all the materials, read the teacher’s comments, review your lessons, and even schedule your classes.

Will the classes be taught in English?

All of our classes are taught in Chinese to give students a fully immersive Chinese experience. Even for absolute beginners, our teachers will only use limited English to help you understand. Our teacher will use pictures, videos, signs, and gestures to help students remember and understand new material.
