NihaoCafe: Online Learning

There were periods of time when our students as well as teachers couldn’t come to our physical classrooms. And while in 2021 it was true mostly for overseas students, in 2022, our students in China had this experience as well.

That is why, once again, our online platform NihaoCafe has proven to be an essential space for online classes. It connected students and teachers, and helped Chinese learners all around the world to continue learning and fulfulling their study goals.

We’ve been continuously improving NihaoCafe, and are going to continue enhancing the user experience in 2023 – to make it the most convenient Chinese learning space for you.

Beijing: Moving to a New, Bigger Campus

At the end of 2022, That’s Mandarin Beijing Campus moved to a new building on Xinzhong B Street 12, just minutes away from the old location. The new campus space is much bigger, with more classrooms to fit more aspiring students, a spacious lounge, and a rooftop terrace that looks much like a garden. Can’t wait to host our events there once the weather gets nice!

Textbooks: Books 1-8 In Print 🎉

The new textbook series, Chinese for Beginners: Illustrated Chinese Textbooks that was launched last year, has now grown to become an 8-book set that covers NihaoCafe Levels 1 to 4.

That means that in 2023, all our students who love to read and write in a paper textbook will get a chance to do so in a book designed specifically for their studies. Each book comes with NihaoCafe dialogues, detailed vocabulary lists, unique exercises, and fun “Did you know?” sections.

2022 Awards

In 2022, we were honoured once again with a Top-Rated Language Schools Award by GoAbroad.com – for the 2nd year straight!

Besides, our Chinese learning platform NihaoCafe has once again received the recognition of Top Online Language Schools by GoAbroad Top Online Programs 2022.

Events & Parties

You must all still remember the Christmas Party, the Chinese Wine Tasting, and all the unforgettable Game Nights & Mahjong Nights we had at That’s Mandarin Beijing and Shanghai Campuses.

The events in 2022 were so much fun that we can only look forward to hosting new events in 2023. Don’t worry, Mahjong nights are going to be held regularly (for everyone who’d like to learn how to play as well as hone their skills) – and there’s so much more in store for you!

In 2023, we’d like to really get you out of your comfort zone, and help you practice your Chinese and experience the Chinese culture in new and exciting ways.

Summer & Winter Camps 2022

Despite the challenges that came with the COVID-19, we were happy to successfully host Chinese Summer & Winter Camps. It was a pleasure to see the young campers make new friendships and have the best time together again, just like before the pandemic.

And with borders opening up, we’re really looking forward to welcoming new campers from abroad in the summer 2023 ☀️
